In 2022, we rebuilt an approximately 4-mile overhead electric transmission line that was originally constructed in 1967 on a combination of single- and double-circuit galvanized steel lattice structures and wooden H-frame structures. The structures and related components were at the end of their service life and needed to be replaced to meet current safety and reliability standards. Construction occurred in two phases, working from Lakeview to Hornertown.
The replacement single- and double-circuit structures are brown, weathering steel structures that are similar in height and appearance to the original structures. The new structures are located near the original structures using the current transmission line easement. No new right of way was needed to complete this project.
