This approximately 4-mile overhead electric transmission line was constructed in 1967 on a combination of single- and double-circuit galvanized steel lattice structures and wooden H-frame structures.
The existing structures and related components are at the end of their service life and need to be replaced to meet current safety and reliability standards. Construction will occur in two phases, working from Lakeview to Hornertown.
The replacement single- and double-circuit structures are brown, weathering steel structures that are similar in height and appearance to the existing structures. The new structures will be located near the existing structures using the current transmission line easement. No new right of way is needed.
