In 2022, we rebuilt an aging 115 kilovolt (kV) single-circuit electric transmission line between our Parmele and Everetts substations located in the counties of Martin and Pitt, North Carolina, including near the Town of Robersonville, North Carolina.
After six decades of reliable service, the existing wooden structures and related components on the 12.4-mile line were at the end of their service life and needed to be rebuilt to maintain reliable service for our customers.
The new single-circuit weathering steel monopole and engineered structures are similar in height and will be located near the original structures using the current transmission line easement. No new right of way was needed.
