Dominion Energy has an existing electric transmission corridor running from its Chesterfield Substation in Chesterfield County to its Hopewell Substation in the City of Hopewell. Approximately 8 miles of double-circuit 230 kV transmission line between these substations is nearing the end of its service life and needs to be replaced with new structures that meet current safety and industry standards.
January 22, 2024 - The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) issued a final order approving the project.
