At Dominion Energy, we are dedicated to finding the best solution for the long-term energy needs within the communities we serve. As we remain focused on reliability and resiliency, we have identified a need for a new transmission line in Aiken County near the City of Wagener. New poles and equipment will provide more reliable and resilient power to the Wagener and Pelion areas.

Overview

Project Details

Dominion Energy and its’ contractors will construct a new approximately 6.5-mile, 115-kilovolt (kV) line on self-supporting galvanized steel poles. The new line will be designed to meet all modern electric codes as well as provide additional reliability to our customers.

Replaces current feed for the city of Wagener with new steel structures.

Site study- determining routes.

2025

Summer

Route selected and right of way acquisition will soon begin.

Engineering design and environmental permitting began.

2028

Construction on the project will begin and is scheduled to finish by year’s end.
