Increased demand for energy requires new infrastructure in Fauquier County, Virginia to maintain reliable service. The new Opal Substation will provide relief to the near-capacity Warrenton Substation. It will strengthen our ability to avoid service issues should an unexpected event occur. New electric transmission lines will not be needed for this project.
