Yes! Dominion Energy offers rebates for residential customers and non-residential customers.

All EVs come with a charging cord that can plug into a standard outlet in your garage or driveway. If you would like to charge at a higher speed, refer to the handbook for residential EV charging for a step-by-step guide to installing a charging station at home.

If you live in an apartment or condominium, our multi-family charging guide provides solutions for installing charging stations.

The cost of charging your EV depends on how much you drive. For customers who drive less than 40 miles a day, it costs about a $1 a day to charge your EV at home. Your electric bill will likely go up, but your monthly gasoline expenses should drop considerably more.

Yes. The Off Peak Plan can help customers save money by shifting energy usage, including EV charging, to more affordable, off-peak hours.

There are many benefits to offering EV charging at your place of business. We recommend consulting with a qualified electrician to develop a plan for installing charging stations. If your electrician determines that utility information or upgrades are needed, you can submit a work request here. There is no charge to submit a work request.

The electric grid can certainly support the number of EVs on the road today. As adoption increases, Dominion Energy is investing in technology, tools, and programs to encourage smart charging behavior, such as charging during off-peak times.

We're also strengthening and modernizing our grid for the future. We know that access to reliable, clean, competitively priced energy is more important than ever to our customers, including those who rely on electricity to power their EVs. Electric Vehicle Pricing Plans Pilot Program (Closed)

We launched the Electric Vehicle Pricing Plans Pilot Program to study the impacts of EV charging on the grid. The pilot program began in 2011 and ended November 30, 2018. Enrollment is now closed but current participants may remain on the pricing plans. We will use the results of the pilot to evaluate future EV-related offerings for customers.
