If you're looking to upgrade your existing natural gas fireplace to a direct vent system, Dominion Energy offers a rebate for the purchase and installation of a qualified natural gas fireplace model.

Available Rebate

Natural Gas Fireplace – Direct Vent
Minimum Fireplace Efficiency (FE) Rebate
≥ 70% with electric pilot ignition $150

Key Benefits to Upgrading to a Direct Vent Qualified Model

  • With electric pilot ignition, there's no more waiting for a service technician to light your pilot. You can also quickly switch your natural gas fireplace on and off using a modulating flame fireplace remote control. The unit remotely triggers the gas fireplace to start burning gas when you switch on the button and gives you the ability to raise or lower your flame height at will in order to create the perfect ambiance. When you switch it off, the fireplace automatically stops burning the gas, saving you energy and money when not in use.
  • Direct vent fireplaces are enclosed in glass and include a safety barrier. This design features aids in their overall efficiency and helps ensure that room air isn't used in combustion, helping to maintain indoor air quality.
  • No chimney is needed. The direct vent pipe is used for intake air and exhaust can route horizontally through the side of your home as well as vertically through the roof. This means you can safely upgrade a natural gas fireplace nearly anywhere in your home.
