What is EnergyShare®?
EnergyShare® helps people pay their energy bills when money is tight. The program covers electric or gas bills at any time of the year. It is open to families, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities. It expanded into South Carolina in 2020. Since then, EnergyShare® has provided millions of dollars to help customers.
To be eligible, your income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Local partner agencies review customer applications. They decide who is approved and how much help to give.
How to Apply?
- Contact your local EnergyShare® partner agency.
- Fill out an application.
- The agency reviews your application.
- If approved, payment is sent straight to Dominion Energy.
Supporting Energy-Saving Home Improvements
EnergyShare® also helps families save energy in their homes. To do this, it works with South Carolina's Weatherization Assistance Program. The program can help pay for health and safety repairs that need to be done before energy-saving upgrades are made. These upgrades can lower your energy bill and make your home more comfortable.
