It's easy to match your electricity use with renewable energy. When you enroll in Dominion Energy Green Power®, your monthly support goes towards the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from wind and solar facilities in Virginia and the surrounding region.

100% Match

Pricing Details

This option allows you to match your entire monthly electricity usage with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). This additional cost is calculated by adding 1.2 cents ($0.012) per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity used to your monthly bill.

Example: If you are enrolled in the 100% Option and use 1,000 kWh per month, you can expect to pay $12 more per month for Dominion Energy Green Power® (1,000 kWh x $0.012). Actual cost will be calculated by Dominion Energy and will vary from month to month according to your actual electricity use.

Calculations are approximate and based on EPA methodology.

Block Option

Pricing Details

This option allows you to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) in blocks. each block costs $2 (based on a rate of $0.012 per kWh), and represents 167 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy. You can add as many blocks as you wish to your monthly bill, and they will be charged each month.

Example: If you are enrolled in the Block Option and choose to purchase 12 blocks $24 will be added to your monthly electricity bill to support renewable energy (12 blocks x $2). This charge will be the same fixed amount on your bill each month.

When you purchase RECs through the Dominion Energy Green Power® program, you guarantee that renewable energy was generated and delivered to the regional power grid on your behalf. You can exclusively claim the environmental benefits associated with that renewable energy production.
