What Does Aggregate Data Mean?
Aggregate data is customer data for at least fifteen customers, from which personally identifiable information (such as name) and other unique identifiers have been removed. The aggregate data that Dominion Energy Virginia provides is the sum of total kWh usage for the requested time period for all addresses you provide.
- If one address exceeds 15% of the total, it will be excluded (and not disclosed).
- Individual address usage will not be shared. Customer data will be handled in a secure manner.
How the Request Process Works:
- Submit the form below.
- A required spreadsheet will be emailed within the next 3 business days to collect the addresses.
- After the spreadsheet is filled out and returned, your request will be processed and completed within 30 business days.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind:
- Include at least 15 verified addresses to protect customer privacy. The company protects the privacy and security of its customers’ data.
- Anyone may request up to 36 months of aggregated usage.
- Data can only be provided for addresses within the utility service area.
Customer Data and How It Is Protected
Customer data is private information about a customer’s electric service. It does not include personal details like name or address. It does include meter data and information about power usage. This data is collected to provide services like power delivery, billing, and account support.
Customer data is kept private and secure by the electric utility. The utility protects this data by:
- Limiting who can see or use it
- Using secure systems to store and manage it
- Only using it for services like billing, metering, and account support
- Following rules set by the Commission to keep data safe
