Billing Options

  • eBill is available for both residential and non-residential customers.

Budget Billing

  • Avoid seasonal swings with Budget Billing.
  • Your monthly bill is the average of your previous 12 bills.
  • This option is also available for small businesses, mid-size businesses, and places of worship.

Third-Party Notice

  • Choose an additional person(s) to receive a notice of any past-due amounts.
  • Third-party notices help ensure that payments are made during illness or vacations.
  • The third party is never obligated to pay the bill.

Payment Arrangements

Short-Term Payment Extensions

A payment extension provides more time to pay your bill. Participation depends on the status of your account (see if you’re eligible).

  • If you're unable to pay by the extended payment due date, please sign in to Manage Account to review other Payment Plan options.
  • Extensions can be made while on Bank Draft. Please contact us at 866-366-4357.
  • Budget Billing customers may be eligible to set up additional payment arrangements. There are no fees associated with a short-term extension. However, late payment charges apply on any past due balance.

Long-Term Payment Plans

A Payment Plan is an agreement to pay your current bill and a set amount towards a past due balance, each month. It divides the past due balance into equal payments. Sign in to see if you're eligible for a long-term payment plan.

  • Long-term payment plans are available for residential accounts only.
  • Payment plans can be established while you are participating with Bank Draft.
  • Budget Billing customers may be eligible to set up additional payment arrangements.
  • A down payment equal to half of the account balance is required to start a payment plan. Payments must be received by Dominion Energy before 5 p.m. EST on the specified due date.
  • If you pay more than the billed amount each month, the over payment will be deducted from the next month's installment amount.
  • Paying less than the amount due will cancel the payment plan.
  • There are no fees associated with a Long-term extension
  • Budget Bill customers may be eligible to set up additional payment arrangements

Energy Assistance

If you or someone you know is having trouble paying the Dominion Energy bill, call us at 866-366-4357. Calling early may provide more options to help prevent the service from being turned off. You may be eligible for payment arrangements or energy assistance funds. Assistance is not always limited to low income customers.

Energy Assistance Programs

Government Assistance: North Carolina Department of Social Services

The North Carolina Department of Social Services offers several ways to assist customers with their energy bills. Contact your local Department of Social Services to apply and for additional information.

  • Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP): Provides a one-time vendor payment to help eligible households pay their heating bills.
    Dec 1 – 31st: households with a person age 60 or older or with a disabled person
    Jan 1 – March 31st: all other households may apply
  • Crisis Intervention Program (CIP): Federally funded program that assists individuals and families who are experiencing a heating or cooling related crisis.
    July 1 – June 30 or until funds are exhausted

Dominion Energy: EnergyShare

EnergyShare is our energy assistance program of last resort during the heating season and is available to anyone who faces financial hardship, regardless of income.

Program duration: Oct 1 -May 31 or until funds are exhausted.
