The Smart Home program connects residential customers with smart home technology to make your home more convenient, personalized and energy efficient.

Smart home technology is rapidly evolving, and Dominion Energy is offering rebate incentives on smart home products to help you start saving.

In this program, smart home technologies are bundled together in a convenient Smart Home Kit, so that your home benefits from a fully integrated set of compatible smart products. To receive the discount, the kit must be purchased online on the program web page.

The Base Smart Home Kit includes:

  • Kasa Smart Plug with Energy Monitor
  • 2 Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug Minis
  • 4 LED Philips Hue smart light bulbs
  • Philips Hue Hub
  • Philips Hue Room Motion Sensor

You can enhance your kit and increase your savings and smart home functionality with rebates on these additional smart home items:

  • Sense Home Energy Monitor
  • The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced

You must be a Dominion Energy Virginia residential customer who:

  • Lives in a single-family detached residence or a single-family attached residence
  • Is responsible for the electric bill
  • Is the owner of the home or is able to secure permission to complete the measures

Program Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a residential Dominion Energy Virginia customer.

  • Must have electric heating and cooling with an air source heat pump or geothermal heat pump.
  • Must live in a single-family detached residence, a single-family attached residence (such as a townhome or condo), or a single-family manufactured home (such as a mobile home or modular home).
  • Residents of multifamily apartment units are not eligible for this program. However, multifamily apartment customers may be eligible for energy-saving measures through the Multifamily program.
  • Is responsible for the electric bill.
  • Is the owner of the home or is able to secure permission to participate.

A home energy assessment can help identify areas where your energy bill could be reduced by taking steps to increase the efficiency of some of your home’s systems and appliances.

The low-cost assessment – performed on your hot water heater, lighting, air ducts, and faucets – will give you access to a personalized report containing cost-effective options to help you reduce your energy usage.

Our pre-qualified contractors can perform both the assessment and the recommended improvements. You may even qualify for financial incentives that help to offset cost of the improvements.

Invest In Energy Savings With A Home Retrofit Audit And Qualified Improvements

Do you avoid areas of your home because they are uncomfortably warm or cold? Is your home ready for energy-saving upgrades?

Learn how you can increase the comfort of your home and save on energy costs with an in-depth home energy audit. Rebates are available to help you start saving!

The Home Retrofit Program can help you identify ways to save energy and money, all while improving the comfort of your home.

Our pre-qualified contractors will perform a comprehensive, diagnostic whole house energy audit. You will receive recommendations and a report detailing energy-saving improvements you can make to your home.

Plus, you will qualify to receive rebates to help you save on any recommended improvements you choose to make. During the 2-4 hour audit, the contractor may also install simple measures like LED bulbs, water heater pipe insulation, showerheads, and aerators.

Eligibility

  • Program is available to residential customers in the Company's Virginia service territory who are on a residential rate schedule.
  • Customer must be living in a single-family detached home or a single-family attached home such as a townhome.
  • Customer must be the homeowner or the person responsible for the electric bill or be able to secure permission to complete the measures.
  • Customer is eligible for one rebate application per location for the following major measures during the Program time period:
    • Air Sealing
    • Attic Insulation
    • Drill and Fill Wall Insulation
    • Basement Wall Insulation
    • Crawl Space Insulation
  • Customer is eligible for one rebate application per location for the following direct install measures during the Program time period:
    • Hot Water Appliances
    • Lighting
    • Efficient Faucets and Aerators
  • Customer may be eligible for more than one rebate application per location for the following major measures during the Program time period:
    • HVAC Tune-Up
    • Heat Pump Upgrade
    • Duct Sealing
    • Duct Insulation
    • Heat Pump Water Heater
    • ECM Fan Motors

Manufactured housing communities should contact the program to learn more about how we can help your community save energy and money.

The Manufactured Housing Program provides customers with a low-cost in-home energy assessment where a qualified participating contractor will conduct a walk-through assessment of your manufactured or mobile home and install simple measures like LED bulbs and water heater pipe insulation, while identifying other opportunities to save energy.

Our pre-qualified contractors can perform both the assessment and the recommended improvements. You may even qualify for financial incentives that help to offset cost of the improvements.

  • Air Sealing
  • Attic/Wall and mobile home belly insulation
  • Smart thermostat installation
  • Energy Star® refrigerator/freezer
  • Water heater replacement with a heat pump water heater

The Multifamily Program provides property owners and managers with an on-site energy assessment of both common areas and tenant units.

Our pre-qualified contractors will perform a comprehensive, diagnostic whole-community energy assessment. You will receive recommendations and a report detailing energy-saving improvements you can make to both individual units of participating tenants, as well as common areas.

Plus, property owners who participate will qualify to receive rebates to help you save on any recommended improvements you choose to make.
