What Is the You Shift/You Save Plan?
The You Shift/You Save Plan (Rate 5-TOU) is a voluntary rate offering available to residential electric customers.
Under this plan, you will be charged different amounts for electricity you use depending on when you use it throughout the day. This rate enables you to save money if you shift your electricity usage away from the high-demand hours ("on-peak hours").
The more you shift your electricity usage away from on-peak hours, the more potential you have to save.

What Are the Time Periods and Their Associated Rates?
The hours of the day fall into the three periods known as on-peak, off-peak and super off-peak hours which vary between summer and winter seasons.
Which customers may be a good fit for the You Shift/You Save Plan?
- Customers with a Smart Thermostat that can be automatically adjusted to optimize savings under the rate plans.
- Customers with Electric Vehicles they charge at home.
- Customers that have the flexibility to shift their usage of major appliances (cooking, laundry, water heater, etc.) away from on-peak hours.
- Customers with flexible schedules, like working from home or retirees.
How much money could I save on the You Shift/You Save Plan?
That's up to you! You're always in control. The more you adjust your electricity usage away from on-peak hours, the greater your potential savings.
- Off-peak periods are ~6 percent cheaper when compared to the Standard rate.
- Super off-peak periods are ~40 percent cheaper when compared to the Standard rate.
Important Note: You could pay more on this rate if you don't shift enough electricity usage away from peak periods.
Could I potentially spend more money on the You Shift/You Save Plan?
Yes. This rate is not a good fit for customers who are not willing to change their energy usage behaviors. On-peak hours are ~87% more expensive when compared to the Standard rate. If your typical electricity usage is high during on-peak hours and you can't shift it to off-peak or super off-peak hours, a different rate may be better for you. We might suggest you try the Rewards Hours Program or see the full list of available rates.

Yes. You can unenroll at any time by switching to another rate you qualify for. If you choose to unenroll and change your mind later, you will not be eligible to re-enroll in the You Shift/You Save Rate Plan for 12 months from the time of your unenrollment.
While not required, we encourage you to stay in the program for a year to see your annual savings. Some months your bill may be higher than others, but as long as you can shift your electricity usage away from on-peak hours, you could save on your annual electric bill.
No. We can't guarantee you will save money. Savings potential is based on how you use electricity. You may pay more or less when compared to the Standard rate.
On-peak hours are ~87% more expensive when compared to the Standard rate. If your typical electricity usage is high during on-peak hours and you can't shift it to off-peak or super off-peak hours, a different rate may be better for you.
Log in to your account, click on Energy Analyzer and then the Rate Compare tab.
Once enrolled in the You Shift/You Save Plan, you will be able to view your usage broken down by time period in the Energy Analyzer. The Energy Analyzer will also help you figure out which appliances you can use the most during on-peak periods.
