How to Pay From Your Bank Account (for active accounts only)

  1. Register or sign in to your account.
  2. Choose Payment from the navigation menu.
  3. Select Make a Payment.

How It Works

You’ll need routing and account number to make or schedule the initial payment.

Immediate Payments

  • For immediate payments select Now under Payment Date
  • Payments made before 5 p.m. EST Monday-Friday will post to your account the same day.
  • Payments made after 5 p.m. EST or on weekends or holidays will post the next business day.
  • Immediate payments cannot be changed/cancelled once submitted.

Scheduled Payments

  • For scheduled payments select Later under Payment Date
  • Scheduled payments can be set to post to your gas account on a future business day of your choosing.
  • These payments may be changed/cancelled until 11:59 p.m. EST the day prior to the scheduled payment date.

Both immediate and scheduled payments are not available payment options if your account reflects two or more returned payments in the last 12 months .

AutoPay

How It Works

  • Dominion Energy will automatically debit your bank account for the exact amount of your bill.
  • Your statement will show you the next AutoPay date and bill amount.
  • You can change your bank account up to the day before your next scheduled AutoPay payment.
  • You can also cancel a pending AutoPay payment.

How to Pay Your Bill With AutoPay

  • Sign in to your account to enroll. If you're a first-time user, register now.
  • Once you’ve enrolled, your next bill will indicate you’re on AutoPay. You will also see your next AutoPay date and amount. Until then, pay your bill as you normally would.

Can I change my method of payment once enrolled?
Yes, you can change the bank account used for payment up to the day before your next scheduled AutoPay payment.

How do I know when I'm enrolled?
Your bill will indicate you are enrolled in AutoPay and will include the AutoPay Date and Amount. Until then, pay your bill through your normal method.

What happens if I move or close my account?
Your AutoPay enrollment will not automatically transfer to your new account. You will need to enroll your new account in AutoPay.

Card or Digital Payment Method

Make a payment using your credit/debit card or a Digital Payment Method (PayPal and Amazon Pay) (English & Spanish).

How It Works

  • Make a one-time payment through our only authorized third party vendor, Paymentus.
  • Transaction fees apply.
    • Residential customers: $1.65 per transaction (up to $1,000 per transaction)
    • Non-residential customers: $14.95 per transaction (up to $15,000 per transaction)
  • Credit or Debit cards accepted include Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX
  • You can make up to five (5) payments in three (3) days or up to ten (10) payments in 30 days.
  • Pay by phone (credit/debit card or checking/savings bank account): 866-366-4357 (English and Spanish)
     

When will the payment apply to my account?

  • Payments will reflect immediately as a pending payment on your Dominion Energy account.
  • In the event of a pending disconnect, be sure to review your payment confirmation to determine if any further action is required.
  • Payments made before 5 p.m. EST Monday-Friday will post to your account the same day.
  • Payments made after 5 p.m. EST or on weekends or holidays will post the next business day.

Unauthorized Third-Party Payment Vendors
If you choose to use an unauthorized online payment vendor, please keep the following in mind:

  • Dominion Energy is not responsible for the unauthorized online payment vendor’s timeliness or accuracy in delivering and recording the payment on your behalf.
  • It may take up to five business days (or more) for the payment to post to your account.
  • The convenience fees may be higher than our authorized online payment vendor.

In-Person

Visit any authorized payment center to pay your bill in person.

How It Works

  • Please bring your bill or account number when making a payment.
  • For each transaction, a $1.50 convenience fee will apply. (This fee must be paid in cash.)
  • Various types of in-person payments are accepted including:
    • Cash
    • Money orders (written to the authorized payment center, not to Dominion Energy)*
    • Checks (including personal checks, traveler’s checks, and cashier’s checks)*
    • Pin-based debit cards (Walmart and Kroger locations)
    • Walmart MoneyCard (Walmart locations)

* Please contact your authorized payment center to confirm it will accept money orders and checks as payment, as they will be accepted at each center's discretion.

 

If you choose to use an unauthorized payment center, such as a check cashing service or convenience store, please keep the following in mind:

  • It may take up to five business days for the payment to post to your account.
  • Dominion Energy is not responsible for the unauthorized merchant’s timeliness or accuracy in recording the payment.
  • The fee may be higher than an authorized payment center.

Important Note: Paper checks are converted to an electronic transaction at the point the payment is processed. When you send us a check through US Mail, you authorize Dominion Energy to convert your paper check into an electronic debit, which instructs your financial institution to transfer funds in the amount of your payment from your account to us.

Automatic Clearing House (ACH)

How it Works

  • Make a payment via electronic transfer from one bank account to another.
  • There's no service charge for ACH payments.
  • Preview the formatting information to see if your financial institution can comply with our bank's requirements..
  • When you are ready, please email us at ACH@domenergy.com to begin our onboarding process for ACH payments and to get the complete bank account and transit/ABA number.

Please Note:

The customer or financial institution must send payments and data (customer account number and amount) via ACH in Corporate Trade Exchange (CTX) or Cash Concentration and Disbursement Plus (CCD+) file format. Dominion Energy’s bank will reject any other format, resulting in delays in payment postings.

Be advised that Dominion Energy Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia utilize the same Wells Fargo account, but have different unique identifier biller names (i.e., 540418825-DOM, 340194760-DOM, 550196830-DOM).
