FAQs

Who conducts the energy assessment?

Energy assessments and installations will be conducted by qualified, local weatherization service providers who currently offer weatherization related services through the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and have been approved by Dominion Energy to complete assessments and install the selected energy-saving products. Find a local provider.

How long will the energy assessment take? How long will it take to make the improvements?

A typical assessment through the Weatherization Assistance Program will take approximately 1-2 hours. The energy expert will let you how long it will take to install the improvements, depending on the size of the premise this may take one or more days. In addition, you may also be eligible to participate in the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Weatherization Assistance Program. Discuss with your weatherization service provider the time commitment necessary to participate.

Are there any additional requirements to receive the energy improvements?

Yes. You will be asked to read and sign the program consent form that states that you desire to have the work performed and that either you are the homeowner or that you are authorized by the homeowner to have the improvements made to your premise. No energy measure will be installed without your permission. You must be a Dominion Energy residential natural gas customer in North Carolina.
