EnergyShare® is a program of last resort that helps pay energy bills for any type of heating source (wood, oil, natural gas, propane, kerosene, electric) for those who qualify.
What is EnergyShare®?
EnergyShare® is our energy assistance program designed as a resource that helps qualified customers facing financial hardship, regardless of income. Applications are open October 1 through May 31 and are submitted to local nonprofits who help run the EnergyShare® program. If you are in need, you can apply for up to $600 in assistance.
- No income restrictions
- Must demonstrate a financial hardship
- Must have a disconnection notice, need services restored, or need help to maintain a payment plan
- Must be a resident in Dominion Energy's service area
How Does It Work?
Bill Payment Assistance
EnergyShare® is a program of last resort that helps pay energy bills for any type of heating source (wood, oil, natural gas, propane, kerosene, electric). EnergyShare® is not income based so any customer facing financial hardship is eligible to apply.
Customer applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our partner agencies to determine eligibility. If approved, the benefit is paid directly to the customer's energy provider.

Agency Web Access (AWA)
EnergyShare® intake agencies can access Dominion Energy customer account information online to find an applicant's account status, bill and payment history, and make pledges.
