What Types of Payments are Accepted?

  • Cash
  • Money orders* (written to the authorized payment center, not to Dominion Energy)
  • Checks*(including personal checks, traveler’s checks, and cashier’s checks)
  • Pin-based debit cards (at Walmart and Kroger locations)
  • Walmart MoneyCard (at Walmart locations)

*Money orders and checks will be accepted at each payment center’s discretion. Please contact the specific location to confirm your money order or check will be accepted.

Are There Any Fees?

  • There is a $1.50 fee per transaction (must be paid in cash).
  • Fees are charged by CheckFreePay, a third party vendor.

When Will the Payment Post to My Account?

  • Payments will reflect as a pending payment on your account immediately.
  • Payments made before 5 p.m. EST M-F will post to your account the same day.
  • Payments made after 5 p.m. EST M-F or on weekends or holidays will post the next business day.

How Can I Avoid a Pending Service Disconnection?

Call Dominion Energy Ohio at 800-362-7557 (7 a.m. - 7 p.m., M-F) to confirm the payment and avoid interruption of service.

Unauthorized Payment Centers

You can also make a payment at unauthorized payment centers, such as a check cashing service or a convenience store.

Here are a few things to keep in mind if you choose to pay at an unauthorized payment center:

  • It may take up to 5 business days for a payment to post to your account.
  • The fee may be higher than an authorized payment center.
  • Dominion Energy is not responsible for any unauthorized merchant’s timeliness or accuracy in recording the payment.
