Dominion Energy is making it easy to remove and recycle your old, energy-inefficient refrigerators and freezers by offering FREE appliance pickup and $50 cash-back.

Along with the cash incentive for pulling the plug on an outdated and inefficient appliance, you can also save up to $110 per year on your energy bill by running more efficient ENERGY STAR® rated models.

It’s a win/win for Dominion Energy customers and for the environment. Not only will the collected appliances not end up in a landfill – they’ll be dismantled in accordance with EPA standards and 95% of the materials (such as plastic, metals, and glass) will be recycled.

  • If your old appliance meets a few simple criteria, you may be on your way to a $50 rebate
  • Appliances must be operable/in working condition (the compressor should still be humming and the unit should still be cooling) because we seek to remove old, inefficient appliances from the grid.
  • Limit of two appliances per account number per year.

This is not a replacement program – while Dominion will collect the old appliance and issue the incentive, customers must purchase their own replacement appliance.

Schedule Free Pickup
Schedule your appointment online, or call 877-510-7234 to speak with a customer service representative. Then you’ll schedule a pick-up date for a professional collection crew to inspect and collect your appliance(s) (an adult aged 18 or older must be present during the collection.) Your rebate should arrive within 4-6 weeks.

The appliance must be in working condition at the time of pickup because our goal with the program is to help remove older, energy-inefficient models from the power grid. The unit must also be clean to help ensure there are no insects or rodents present.

This is an important first step in disabling the appliance and the start of the recycling process. To learn more about this process and what to expect on pick-up day, view this short video.
