This project will include substation and transmission line activities at Possum Point Power Station in Prince William County, Virginia to maintain reliable electric service and compliance with federal standards. We plan to add an additional transformer at the existing 500 kV substation, make improvements to the existing 230 kV substation, and install nearly one mile of new transmission line in an existing line corridor. All work will be done on Dominion Energy property and have minimal impact on the local community.

*We originally announced this project in 2020, but suspended it as we continued to monitor the evolving bulk electricity grid. Now, we are restarting the project to maintain reliability and compliance with federal standards.

There may be some traffic delays.
Noise levels will be minimal; permits are in place.
This project will not have environmental impacts.
Access to surrounding neighborhoods will not be impacts.
