RNG Partnerships

Partnering with America’s farmers

Renewable natural gas is a great technology, but we can’t do it alone. So, we’re teaming up with the nation’s largest pork and dairy producers to develop projects across the country. Once all of our projects are developed in the next 10 years, we will reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. by more than 5.5 million metric tons. That’s the same as taking 1.2 million cars off the road or planting more than 90 million new trees each year.

Smithfield Foods

We've joined forces with Smithfield Foods to create Align RNG™. Together, we're harnessing clean energy from hog farms across the U.S. Our first project is up and running in Utah and more are on the way.

Vanguard Renewables

We’ve teamed up with Vanguard Renewables to create clean energy from dairy farms across the U.S. Projects are underway in Georgia, Nevada, Colorado, Kansa, Texas, New Mexico and Idaho, with more planned nationwide..

  • Located in Virginia's Gateway Region, the Waverly project will produce RNG from a network of 20 farms and will produce enough clean energy to power 2,500 homes.

  • Annual Climate Benefit: The same as taking 19,000 cars off the road or planting 1.4 million new trees each year.

Bowdens

  • Located in Duplin County, North Carolina, Align RNG's Bowdens Project will produce RNG from a network of 35 farms and will produce enough clean energy to power 3,200 homes.

  • Annual RNG Production: 304,866 Dth
  • Annual Emissions Reduction: 135,000 metric tons CO2e
  • Annual Climate Benefit: The same as taking 29,000 cars off the road or planting 2.2 million new trees each year.
