Project Details

We're proposing a project to install four natural gas-fired peaking units at the James River Industrial Park in Chesterfield County, Virginia. These peaking units would provide power during periods of peak demand, and the project also will create jobs and other economic benefits. They would generate nearly 1,000 megawatts, enough electricity to power 250,000 homes, and would be protective of air quality, the environment and surrounding community.

The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) must approve the project.

Please note this peaking unit project is not associated with Dominion Energy’s coal ash closure activities at Chesterfield Power Station.
