Educational Grants

  • The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation
    The Foundation has invested more than $30 million in education since 1985.
  • Environmental Education and Stewardship Grants
    The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation annually awards up to $1 million through a competitive environmental education and stewardship grants program. Eligible organizations include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and public and private K-12 schools in communities served by Dominion Energy companies.
  • School- and Job-Readiness Programs
    At the discretion of philanthropy staff and Dominion Energy's Community Investment Boards, area grants may be made to help teens prepare for jobs or bridge to post-secondary programs in engineering, math, or science. Program support varies from year to year but often includes Junior Achievement and such organizations as Jobs for Virginia Graduates and Ohio's Hard-Hatted Women.

Scholarships

  • Dominion Energy Careers in Energy at Three Rivers Community Technical College
    We support promising candidates for the Nuclear Engineering Technology program at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich, Connecticut, with up to 16 two-year scholarship awards per year, which includes tuition and fees, books, monthly stipend, and a summer internship assignment at Dominion Energy's Millstone Power Station.
  • Dominion Energy Credit Union Scholarship Program
    We provide educational funds for Dominion Energy Credit Union members who are graduating high school seniors enrolling as full-time students enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Combined College Funds
    In the states where Dominion Energy has a broad customer base, we support a variety of combined college funds – United Negro College Fund (UNCF) as well as statewide and regional foundations for independent colleges and community colleges.

  • Project Plant It!®
    Project Plant It! is evolving. After 16 years and planting over half a million seedlings and wildflowers in communities we serve, Project Plant It! is growing in a different direction. Our goal is to modernize the program to reach students in new and different ways. This also means making the program accessible to communities currently without suitable planting sites. We invite you to visit the Project Plant It! website and Facebook page for exciting updates.
  • Strong Men & Women In Virginia History
    This program honors distinguished African-American leaders in Virginia, and features a student writing contest. The accompanying web site and teaching guide provide activities and lesson plans for primary and secondary teaching levels.
  • Talks & Tours
    Learn about public tours offered at Dominion Energy's power stations and facilities.
  • Ambassador Program
    We have an experienced group of employee volunteers specially trained to conduct free educational presentations to schools, community groups and civic organizations.
  • Virtual Presentations & Videos
    Thanks to the Internet, you can learn about subjects like renewable energy, electricity and careers, without leaving home.
