Environmental Stewardship Grants

Funding for Projects that Support the Environment

The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations and public and private K-12 schools to support programs that educate students and the public about environmental science, protect and preserve natural habitats, improve open spaces and make nature accessible.

Some of Our Recipients Include:

  • Bishop Gravatt Center, Inc. (SC) to support the installation of a bogwalk for environmental education, expanding access to natural habitats and learning opportunities.

  • Botanical Garden of the Piedmont (VA) to support development of the Rain Garden and Biofilter Demonstration Garden, demonstrating how sustainable landscape design protects water resources and benefits local communities.

  • Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina, Inc. (SC) to support the Sullivan’s Island Palmetto Planting Project, promoting coastal resilience and environmental stewardship.

  • Friends of Hollywood Cemetery (VA) to enhance environmental stewardship by planting trees within a 135-acre urban green space.

  • Shenandoah County SEARCH, Inc. (VA) to support the SEARCH Solar Energy Sustainability Initiative, expanding access to renewable energy and community sustainability efforts.

  • The Center for Energy Education (NC) to provide a Clean Energy Summer Camp program for middle school students in Halifax and Northampton Counties, building awareness of renewable energy and sustainability.

  • The Community Foundation for the CSRA (GA) to support the Grow Back Project, promoting environmental restoration and community resilience.

  • The Connecticut Audubon Society, Inc. (CT) to deliver the Science in Nature School Program, connecting students with environmental education and outdoor learning experiences.
