We are committed to serving our customers and the communities where we all live and work.
We employ over 17,000 people in 16 states, providing reliable, affordable, clean energy to nearly 7 million customers. We are a leader in the clean energy transition, with a clear strategy to achieve Net Zero carbon and methane emissions.
Headquartered in Richmond, VA, we're creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve. We invest in communities where we live and work, and protect our natural resources.
We believe Actions Speak Louder.
Our vision is to become the most sustainable energy company in the country.
We are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy; protecting the environment; serving our customers and communities; empowering our people; and creating value for our shareholders.
Protecting our employees, customers, and communities always comes first. We put safety ahead of everything else, because nothing else can succeed without it. Our relentless focus on safety has produced gratifying improvements in performance, but we are aiming even higher — because even one accident is one too many.
We’re there when you flip the switch or turn the thermostat. In 2021, our customers had service 99.9% of the time, excluding major storms. As we move forward with the clean-energy transition, we’re investing in grid transformation and gas distribution modernization to make sure our customers continue to get the service they want, when they want it.
Keeping energy affordable matters just as much as keeping it reliable. We’re working to keep our rates below national and regional averages. To help our customers manage costs further we offer a variety of energy-efficiency programs, as well as assistance programs to help those facing financial difficulty get back on their feet.
We’re getting as clean as we can, as fast as we can, without endangering reliability or affordability. We’ve committed to achieving net zero carbon dioxide and methane emissions for our electric and natural gas operations by 2050, and to helping our suppliers and customers cut their own emissions as well. Find out more about our clean-energy production, including our rapidly growing portfolio of wind and solar power, and how we’ll reach Net Zero.

Chair, President and CEO of Dominion Energy
We're committed to preserving and protecting our planet's natural resources through the passionate efforts of our people, our support for environmental programs, and our investments in new and emerging energy technologies. Some examples include:
The Commitment of Our People
We want to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy all that nature has to offer. Here's an example of one employee whose job it is to help ensure that happens. We also encourage employee volunteerism in support of wildlife protection programs.
Protecting Wildlife Habitats
From supporting sea turtle rescue efforts, to helping fund avian conservation, to creating and fostering pollinator habitats, our company and our employees are committed to protecting wildlife and their habitats across our company’s footprint.
Water Conservation
We use water to make energy. Whenever we can, we return the water to its original source. But because we can't always do that, we're seeking opportunities to use less water and to reuse water. View our clean water commitment.
Workplace Sustainability
We apply the principles of sustainability across the board — including in our places of work. This ensures our employees experience and cultivate a sustainable mindset throughout their workday — even when doing something as simple as pouring a cup of coffee. Read more about our commitment to sustainable operations.
It's our job to make sure power and gas delivery to our customers remains reliable regardless of weather, security threats, or accidents. But we also support the communities our customers live in by volunteering and making financial contributions to community causes. Some of the ways we’re showing our commitment to our customers and communities include:
Energy AssistanceFor customers who may be facing financial hardship or who simply want to manage their energy usage more effectively, we are here to help. We can connect customers to bill payment assistance programs, such as EnergyShare®. We provide customers with energy efficiency tools and tips. We also help them understand the various billing options available to them. Our compassionate employees are committed to delivering the support our customers need, every day.
Employees in ActionYear round, employees roll up their sleeves to volunteer their time and skills to support projects such as weatherizing homes, building nature trails in parks, cleaning up waterways, planting trees, constructing access ramps for mobility challenged community members, delivering meals to neighbors in need, and repairing school facilities. Building Hispanic Talent Initiative
As part of our effort to have a workforce that is representative of the communities we serve, in March of 2022, we joined with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) to launch the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative. This $2 million dollar, three-year initiative will provide funding for a summer program at seven higher education institutions that will introduce students to STEM careers and the energy sector. Over the course of the project, more than 1,250 students will have the opportunity to pursue a career path from high school to college and into the energy industry.
Our HBCU PromiseIn 2020, Dominion Energy committed $25 million to be shared by 11 historically black colleges and universities in Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina. The six-year "HBCU PromiseSM" program will support endowments, capital projects, operating expenses and educational programs in clean energy. As part of that program, Dominion Energy recently hosted a forum with HBCU leaders to discuss equity in higher education. We also established the Educational Equity Scholarship Program, a six-year, $10 million initiative to provide assistance with higher education expenses to African American and other minority students in our service area.
Project Plant It!®Each spring since 2007, we have given thousands of students in our communities a free tree seedling to plant for Arbor Day. For the 2020-2021 academic year, Project Plant It! added a bee pollinator program, and participants receive free wildflower seed packets to attract bees and other pollinators. Project Plant It! supports educators with STEM-based lesson plans, games, activities and other resources to teach students about the important role of trees and pollinators to our ecosystem. We're working hard to attract diverse talent, grow leaders, provide career development for all our employees, and create an inclusive work environment.
Some of the ways we're showing our commitment to providing a great employee experience include:

To honor our nation's veterans by providing the training and support they need to successfully transition to civilian life, we launched Troops to Energy Jobs in 2011. Today, more than 50 companies participate in the program. See how we support our nation's veterans.
