How can we help you?
Maplewood Solar
Overview
Dominion Energy is working to protect the environment and Virginia’s future while serving our customers. With a goal to achieve net zero emissions from our electric and gas infrastructure by 2050, we are also supporting customers working to meet their own renewable energy goals.
One such project that will serve dedicated customers is our proposed Maplewood Solar Facility, which will be up to a 120 MW facility. The project encompasses approximately 1,500 acres in Pittsylvania County, located near the community of Climax, on the east and west sides of Climax Road. This project was obtained by Dominion Energy in 2019.
In addition to supporting a clean and sustainable energy future in Virginia, projects like Maplewood Solar provide many benefits to the local community. Projects use Virginia and locally-based suppliers and labor, help create clean energy jobs, and increase local tax revenues.
Construction on Maplewood Solar began in the summer of 2020 and is slated to be complete around mid-year of 2022.
