Overview:
This project will improve electric reliability and support future growth by building a new substation with important equipment to meet higher energy needs.
The new substation will be located near the Garysville delivery point in Prince George County, Virginia, and will serve customers of the Prince George Electric Cooperative.

Project Outcome:
This project involves the construction of the Garysville Substation which will support Prince George Electric Cooperative as well as Dominion Energy customers.
There are Four main components of this project:- Build a new substation on Prince George’s Electric Cooperative Property that will be owned and managed by Dominion Energy
- Install a new control enclosure with the required infrastructure to support substation operations.
- Install a new transformer.
- Clear site for new substation which includes removal of existing vegetation.

- Mid‑2027: Substation construction begins
- Late 2027: Construction is expected to be completed
During construction, nearby residents may notice low to moderate noise and some traffic impacts.
