Fifty college and university students from historically underserved groups were awarded scholarship funds for educational expenses as part of Dominion Energy’s Educational Equity Scholarship Program. These scholarships are part of a six-year, $10 million initiative to provide assistance with higher education expenses.

The selected students received $10,000 each and will be able to renew scholarships as they progress in school, provided they meet certain criteria, such as GPA requirements and residence in an eligible state. The program is administered by Scholarship America, a nonprofit that specializes in management of scholarship and tuition assistance programs.

As part of the company’s HBCU Promise®, the Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program assists students residing in CT, WV, VA, MD, NC, SC, ID, WY, UT who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

In addition to this initiative, the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative ℠, and Promesa: Hispanic Higher Education Initiative are all aimed at investing in educational institutions, serving under-represented communities and building a pipeline of diverse talent to enter the energy industry.
