Providing clean, reliable energy is the essential service at the heart of what we do, but we also place paramount importance on supporting and strengthening the communities we serve in meaningful ways.

To us, the meaning of sustainability extends beyond just energy and into fostering long-term growth and development of culturally diverse communities.

According to the most recent data from the United States Census Bureau, people of Hispanic origin make up nearly 19% of the U.S. population – and that number continues to grow.

Through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, we’re proud to support organizations across our footprint that meet the needs of Hispanic communities.

Here are just a few examples of the meaning behind these vital investments:

The Centers for Families & Children

“At The Centers, we believe that every person deserves the chance to reach their full potential. Helping individuals develop essential skills and matching them to high-quality jobs creates a foundation for their future financial success and ensures that communities are equitable and prosperous” said Eric Morse, President and CEO, The Centers. “We are truly grateful for the generous $10,000 investment from the Dominion Foundation, which directly supported preparing and connecting 59 job seekers to employment.”

PASOs

Columbia, South Carolina

“Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, Latino families across the state continue to need support,” said Maria Martin, Executive Director, PASOs. “With support from Dominion Energy, PASOs can expand its educational outreach and resource navigation for Latino families across South Carolina. PASOs will also continue to provide emergency preparedness resources to help families prepare for environmental and health emergencies in our state.”

“VALHEN is grateful to Dominion Energy for their generous sponsorships towards our college readiness programs, which have helped hundreds of Latino/x students in the Commonwealth learn more about how to navigate their path towards higher education,” said Karina Kline-Gabel, Vice President, VAHLEN. “Recently, high school students from Virginia benefited from this partnership as they completed our 2021 Hispanic College Institute at Virginia Tech and our Latinx Leadership Academy at JMU.”
