A path for federal agencies to contract with utilities.

Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) offers a streamlined pathway for federal agencies to contract with energy utilities for comprehensive energy efficiency, conservation, and demand-reduction services.

Why use UESCs?

Federal entities, under 42 U.S.C.§ 8256, and D.o.D. entities, under 10 U.S.C. § 2913, are encouraged to contract with utilities to meet energy efficiency goals. UESCs create many potential benefits for federal and DoD agencies:

Work with trusted energy partner
Meet energy and greenhouse gas mandates
Improve water efficiency
Reduce energy infrastructure costs
Obtain low-cost financing
Increase savings compared to ESPC

In the past decade, federal agencies have saved $1 billion with approximately 3,000 UESC projects representing a total investment of $6 billion.
