Lake Gaston Water Levels

Water levels at Lake Gaston may change due to weather (e.g., rainfall), customer electric power demand, operations at the upstream Kerr Reservoir project and various other conditions. These changes may occur at any time and without notice.

Lake Gaston water levels for today and the next two days are:

Day Date Mode of Operation Anticipated Levels (feet above msl)
Tuesday 6/17/2025 Normal Operation 199.76 - 199.81
Wednesday 6/18/2025 Normal Operation 199.47 - 199.84
Thursday 6/19/2025 Normal Operation 199.65 - 199.84
  1. Operational modes are important to lake levels.
  2. Water level is given in feet and above mean sea levels (msl).
  3. A recording of lake levels and dam release schedules is available at 252-535-6883. The recording is updated daily by 8:00 a.m.

The anticipated level is an estimate of water levels throughout the course of the day and is subject to change without notice. During flood control operation, water may cover residential docks and inundate yards any time lake levels rise above 200 feet above sea level, depending on the elevation of the property.
