Our partnership with Rebuilding Together Richmond provides an opportunity to give back to our local communities.
For Dominion Energy Facilities Management Manager Jared, giving back to his local community is a privilege. Recently, he brought his passion for community and nearly a dozen Dominion Energy employees to volunteer for Rebuilding Together Richmond’s annual Fall Fix-Up Day event. Their rehab work will go a long way toward allowing Robena Cohen to live more comfortably in her home for years to come.
Rebuilding Together Richmond is a local nonprofit organization that focuses on repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives for neighbors in need – particularly veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. Partnering with companies like Dominion Energy is crucial to gathering volunteers – who help carry out their vision of “safe homes and communities for everyone.”
Volunteers completed several needed projects at Ms. Cohen’s home, including:
And many other small projects around her home.
“It's really a privilege to work for a company that gives us opportunities to give back to the community,” says Jared. “Putting a team together at our company has always been very easy. We always have a large amount of people that are willing to answer the call to volunteer whenever it rings.”
This project was supported by the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation with a $5,000 grant to support Fall Fix-Up day projects.
