What is Reward Hours?
Reward Hours is a program where Dominion Energy rewards residential customers for managing their electricity usage certain hours of the year (we call these hours “reward hours”).
Reward hours occur throughout the year but are typically scheduled when the weather is very cold (winter mornings or evenings) or extremely hot (summer afternoons).
Why Join?

How do I join reward hours?
You may enroll either your home OR your thermostat (not both)
Enroll Your Home
- Offers the most flexibility.
- Earn up to $20-$30 each year.
- You choose how to reduce your home's electricity usage.
- Temporarily adjust your thermostat and delay laundry, cooking, washing dishes, or charging your EV. It's up to you, you're in control!
Enroll Your Thermostat
- Offers the most simplicity.
- Earn up to $100 in the first year and $25 each additional year.
- Let us make small adjustments to your thermostat remotely during reward hours.
- You can override our adjustments at any time.
