How to Pay Your Bill Online

  1. Register or sign in to your account.
  2. Choose "Payment" from left navigation on desktop or hamburger menu in top right-hand corner.
  3. Select "From Your Bank Account."

How It Works

You’ll need your routing number and bank account number to make or schedule the initial payment.

Immediate Payments

  • For immediate payments select "Now" under "Payment Date"
  • Payments made before 5 p.m. EST Monday-Friday will post to your account the same day.
  • Payments made after 5 p.m. EST or on weekends or holidays will post the next business day.
  • Immediate payments cannot be changed/cancelled once submitted.

Scheduled Payments

  • For scheduled payments select "Later" under "Payment Date"
  • Scheduled payments can be set to post to your gas account on a future business day of your choosing.
  • These payments may be changed/cancelled until 11:59 PM EST the day prior to the scheduled payment date.

Both immediate and scheduled payments are not available payment options if your account reflects two or more returned payments in the last 12 months.

Can I avoid being turned off for non-pay?

Automatic Bank Draft

Both residential and business customers can make payments via an automatic bank draft for free!

How to Pay Your Bill With Automatic Bank Drafts

Sign in to your account to enroll in Automatic Bank Draft or to make changes to your existing bank draft enrollment.

If you're a first-time user, you can register online.

How It Works

  • Dominion Energy will automatically debit your checking/savings account for the exact amount of the bill 10-21 days after the bill date (based on your selection.)
  • You can choose the most convenient day to make your payment and change your draft day if you need to.
  • There are no fees.

Can I change my method of payment once enrolled?

  • Change the bank account used for payment up to the day before your scheduled draft day.
  • Suspend your current pending draft and pay via another method, if you need to.

How do I know when I'm enrolled?

Your bill will indicate the date your first bank draft payment will be deducted. Until then, pay your bill through your normal method.

What happens if I move or close my account?

  • Transfer bank drafting to your new account if you move within our service area.
  • If you close your account, your final bill will be drafted and no more drafts will occur.

Make a payment using your debit or credit card either online or by phone (English & Spanish).

How It Works

  • Make a one-time payment through our only authorized third party vendor, Paymentus or call 833-260-2455.
  • Transaction fees apply.
    • Residential customers: $1.65 per transaction (up to $1,000 per transaction)
    • Non-residential customers: $14.95 per transaction (up to $15,000 per transaction)
  • Credit cards accepted include MasterCard, Visa, Discover and AMEX
  • Debit cards accepted include STAR, PULSE, NYCE or Accel
  • There are transaction limits: You can make up to three transactions in five days or up to five in 30 days.

Unauthorized Third-Party Payment Vendors
If you choose to use an unauthorized online payment vendor, please keep the following in mind:

  • Dominion Energy is not responsible for the unauthorized online payment vendor’s timeliness or accuracy in delivering and recording the payment on your behalf.
  • It may take up to five business days (or more) for the payment to post to your account.
  • The convenience fees may be higher than our authorized online payment vendor.

In Person

Visit any authorized payment center to pay your bill in person.

How It Works

  • Please bring your bill or account number when making a payment.
  • There's no fee at authorized payment centers.
  • Various types of in-person payments are accepted including:
    • Cash
    • Money orders (written to the authorized payment center, not to Dominion Energy)*
    • Checks (including personal checks, traveler's checks and cashier checks)*
    • Pin-based debit cards (Walmart and Kroger locations)
    • Walmart MoneyCard (Walmart locations)
  • If you choose to use an unauthorized payment center, such as a check cashing service or convenience store, please keep the following in mind:
    • It may take up to five business days for the payment to post to your account.
    • Dominion Energy is not responsible for the unauthorized merchant's timeliness or accuracy in recording the payment.
    • The fee may be higher than an authorized payment center.

* Please contact your authorized payment center to confirm it will accept money orders and checks as payment, as they will be accepted at each center's discretion.

When are the payments posted to my account?

  • Payments will reflect immediately as a pending payment on your account.
  • Payments made before 5 p.m. EST M-F post to your account the same day.
  • Payments made after 5 p.m. EST M-F or on weekends or holidays post the next business day.

Important Note: Paper checks are converted to an electronic transaction at the point the payment is processed. When you send us a check through US Mail, you authorize Dominion Energy to convert your paper check into an electronic debit, which instructs your financial institution to transfer funds in the amount of your payment from your account to us.

Automatic Clearing House (ACH) for Businesses

How it Works

  • Make a payment via electronic transfer from one bank account to another.
  • There's no service charge for ACH payments.
  • Preview the formatting information to see if your financial institution can comply with our bank's requirements..
  • When you are ready, please email us at ACH@domenergy.com to begin our onboarding process for ACH payments and to get the complete bank account and transit/ABA number.

Please Note:

The customer or financial institution must send payments and data (customer account number and amount) via ACH in Corporate Trade Exchange (CTX) or Cash Concentration and Disbursement Plus (CCD+) file format. Dominion Energy’s bank will reject any other format, resulting in delays in payment postings.

Be advised that Dominion Energy Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia utilize the same Wells Fargo account, but have different unique identifier biller names (i.e., 540418825-DOM, 340194760-DOM, 550196830-DOM).
