We are committed to lowering our carbon footprint and providing a cleaner energy future for the customers and the communities we serve. Earlier this year, we announced a new goal of achieving net zero carbon dioxide and methane emissions across its footprint by 2050. During the 2020 General Assembly session, the Commonwealth of Virginia also took steps to accelerate the transition to clean energy through the passage of the Virginia Clean Economy Act.

Solar generation is a vital part of our comprehensive clean energy strategy to meet standards outlined in the Virginia Clean Economy Act and to achieve the company's net zero commitment. Development of additional renewable and clean energy solutions are being accelerated in Virginia to meet these new goals, with plans to add more than 16,000 MW of new solar energy generation over the next fifteen years.

To that end, we are interested in working with localities to explore what opportunities might exist for the development of solar energy generation sites.

Localities can be especially helpful in identifying large areas of land that the landowners or counties may be interested in selling or leasing.
