The Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project is the culmination of a year of ongoing activities.
The holidays came early for hundreds of families in the Carolinas. Recognizing the difficulties, the pandemic has created for many, Dominion Energy is continuing its annual employee-driven Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project to benefit families in the Carolinas going through financial and other hardships.
This year's events in Charleston, Cayce, Gastonia and Raleigh were contact-free and outdoors, in accordance with CDC guidance. Nearly 900 holiday meal kits, provided by Piggly Wiggly, accompanied hundreds of gift-wrapped toys and presents, donated by employees and retirees. The food baskets and toys were then loaded into the vehicles of employee volunteers who delivered the packages to families in need while wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing.
The Good Neighbor Fund is a nonprofit organization run by company employees that provides financial assistance to families facing unexpected tragedies or emergencies. The Christmas Project is the culmination of a year of ongoing activities sponsored by the Good Neighbor Fund through donations from the company’s employees and retirees. One hundred percent of donations go directly to help the community.
