Sharing values, and valuing differences. This is at the heart of how we are making a difference for our customers and communities. To unlock the power of collaboration, innovation and collective achievement, we must respect diversity, treat everyone with dignity, fairness, equity and respect, and build a talented workforce enriched by people of varied backgrounds, education and life experiences.

Diversity Matters
  • We seek to hire staff who reflect our communities
  • We encourage employees to develop and use their unique skills
  • We support volunteerism that boosts diversity

We annually report on our progress and performance as related to diversity and inclusion practices in our Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Report.

Diversity Councils

Our commitment to diversity begins at the top. Our Executive Diversity Council sets and monitors objectives for workforce and supplier diversity, corporate philanthropy and community involvement. In addition, each of Dominion Energy's business units has its own diversity council, which works alongside the executive sponsors to promote diversity and inclusion within the company.

Welcoming these different perspectives builds a more creative and innovative workplace, leading to greater productivity, improved profit margins, and better service to our customers and other stakeholders.

Workforce Diversity

We work to recruit, retain, and develop the careers of talented individuals who reflect the changing demographics of the communities in which we do business. Our strategic plan to cultivate this diversified workforce includes three core components:
