We include a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in all aspects of our corporate strategy. DE&I deepens our understanding of our customers’ perspectives, making us more responsive and innovative, and, as a result, more competitive also. We build this culture of DE&I for both our employees and the communities we serve, in partnership with them.
We seek out top performers through diversity-focused outreach, military channels, our internship program and other means. We want our workforce to reflect the communities we serve, so we actively recruit within diverse populations. Once new hires join our team, we want them to stay. Our extensive internal talent development programs support employees in reaching their full potential.
Dominion Energy offers diverse interest groups that bring together employees with shared backgrounds, interests or perspectives. We call them Employee Resource Groups. Our commitment to diversity begins at the top. Our executive diversity council works with the diversity councils of each Dominion Energy business unit to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within our company.

A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion encourages the exchange of ideas, supports collaboration and inspires innovation. We strive to empower people to realize the full potential of their authentic selves, including their unique talents.

We've hosted the Careers in Energy Diversity Student Conference annually since 2019. It helps diverse students nationwide learn about the energy industry and explore careers at Dominion Energy. After the conference, the students have the opportunity to compete for summer internships. We also established the Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program.
We seek to match our talent needs with the skills of individuals with neurodisabilities who live in our communities. Working with the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center at Virginia Commonwealth University, we seek to identify qualified employees and help them succeed in the workplace.
One in five of our new hires is a veteran. In 2011, we launched Troops to Energy Jobs to provide training and support to veterans transitioning from the military to civilian life. Today, more than 50 companies participate in the program. Find out more about how we support veterans.
