People Power

We don't just fill jobs, we create careers and community. We hire individuals who represent a cross section of the communities we serve, and help them to develop as people and as professionals. We are retooling everything we do, in every part of the company, to operate more sustainably and deliver energy more reliably than ever before. We're shaping the future of energy in America – and we're doing it as a team.

Our vision is to become the most sustainable energy company in the country.

We know that our success depends on having a workforce that feels valued and empowered, and we're honored to be consistently recognized for providing that great employee experience. Whatever stage of your career you're in, and whatever background you've joined us from, we're ready to welcome you onto our team and ensure your success.

Military and Veterans

The skills and strengths developed during a military career make for a great fit at Dominion Energy. We make it a priority to recruit and retain active duty and retired military personnel. We offer 100% salary differential and benefits coverage for up to five years for deployed military employees.

Explore Career Opportunities

Internship Programs

Dominion Energy has a best-in-class paid internship program that employs more than 250 college students every year, representing 80 majors from 70 schools in 22 states. Our internship program brings in diverse talent. In 2018, we offered full time jobs to more than 85% of our interns who were graduating seniors.

Minority and female interns can apply for our Diversity Scholarships, which include a $5,000 award.

Employee Resource Groups

Our Employee Resource Groups enable people with shared interests and backgrounds to work together to create community, provide networking opportunities, and encourage professional development.

Training and Development Opportunities

In our ever-changing industry, our team members need to always be ready to learn. That's why we offer a variety of training and development opportunities for all of our employees.

  • Our Education Assistance program provides annual reimbursement of $5,250 - $7,500 for participating employees.
  • We offer a self-guided training platform for independent learning.
  • Our Career Center offers career counseling, interview coaching and help with resume writing and personal branding.

New and Upgraded Office Spaces

Our Dominion Energy Workplace Plan is a company-wide effort to modernize our corporate workspaces. After all, most of us spend more working hours at the office than we do at home. We recently completed the five-year rollout of the Workplace Plan, in which we upgraded workspace for thousands of our employees.

We also recently celebrated the opening of 600 Canal Place, our state-of-the-art 20-story office tower in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The building houses 1,200 Dominion Energy employees in over one million square feet of work space, and includes environmentally-friendly features such as a terrace that captures rainwater for reuse.

Innovating Through Friendly Competition

Innovation can come from anywhere within our organization, so we provide opportunities for every employee to share ideas and insight. Our annual Innovation Expo recognizes the most creative ideas from employees, as judged by their own colleagues.

Last year the Chairman's Excellence Award went to a cross-functional team of employees from our Power Delivery and Information Technology groups. They partnered to create a mobile app that uses augmented reality (AR) to communicate with customers during their area's conversion from overhead to underground power lines.
