Dominion Energy Ohio is currently responsible for the installation of all residential, commercial and industrial gas service lines (from the street to the gas meter) at no cost to the customer.
At this time, developers, builders and customers do not have the option to hire a contractor of their choice to install the gas service line. However, Dominion Energy Ohio will honor service agreements received prior to October 1, 2016.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Dominion Energy Ohio at 888-619-0786 between 7 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, or via email at OhioConstructionSupport@dom.com.
With the passage of the Ohio Minimum Service Standards for Natural Gas Customers, Service Line Installers will be required to provide proof that the house line has been tested at a minimum of 1-1/2 times the operating pressure, but not less than 3 lbs., for 10 minutes. To accomplish this, a new form, the Houseline Installation Record (HIR), is being introduced.
All house piping installed in Dominion Energy's service territory shall be installed in accordance with the "National Fuel Gas Code" (NFPA 54) and/or the "International Fuel Gas Code," latest editions.
