Dominion Energy’s Non-Residential Prescriptive Program provides rebates to your business for energy efficiency improvements made in your facility. Some of the available measures include duct testing and sealing, HVAC system tune-up, and upgrades to refrigeration systems and commercial kitchen appliances.

These energy efficient improvements will deliver benefits such as a more comfortable environment for your employees and customers, and lower energy bills.

Participate Now

  • Contact a local participating contractor
  • Have your contractor complete the initial assessment (see list below) to reserve rebate funding with our program representative
  • Install qualifying energy efficient measures
  • Have your contractor submit a rebate application (see list below) on your behalf

Participation & Eligibility

The Non-Residential Prescriptive program provides you with:

  • Access to pre-qualified contractors who can perform the energy efficiency improvements for your facility
  • Improvement of the energy efficiency and energy use in your facility when the installations are complete
  • Financial incentives that help to offset cost for installing the recommended improvements
This program is open to Dominion Energy North Carolina business customers who have not opted out of participation, are not exempt by statute, or not under special contract. Customers must be responsible for their own electric bill and either be the owner of the building or able to secure permission from the building owner to have measures performed.
The participating contractor you choose to complete your project will provide the cost for installing your selected equipment. Upon completion of the work, a rebate will be submitted on your behalf. Your out-of-pocket cost will vary depending upon the rebate you receive for the equipment installed. Rebates must be submitted within 45 days of completed work.
No. If you participate in a program and receive a rebate, you cannot opt out for three years following the year of participation. Example: Participation takes place in 2018; customer cannot opt out in years 2019, 2020, 2021 and will regain the ability to file an application for the 2022 season between January 1, 2022, and March 1, 2022. Customers must also have a verified electric history of using more than 500 kilowatts but no more than 10 megawatts that meet certain requirements to be eligible for opt out.
Yes. Only qualified measures performed by a contractor participating in the Non-Residential Prescriptive program will be eligible for incentives. Find a local participating contractor.

Rebate Information

Please allow up to 90 days from the date all required information is received to process your rebate. Payment will be issued to the account holder and mailing address on record with Dominion Energy, unless the customer has authorized the rebate to be paid to the contractor. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all requirements for the rebate are met. Failure to provide any of the required information will delay processing of your application and could result in non-payment.
Upon submission of your rebate, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the rebate form confirming the rebate has been submitted for processing. You may also call 888-366-8280 to check the status of your rebate.
