EnergyShare is a heating bill payment assistance program in North Carolina. Heating assistance applies to any heat source: oil, gas, kerosene, wood and electricity.

COVID-19

Due to the coronavirus, we have suspended all service disconnections for nonpayment at this time. Assistance is available to individuals and families who may be struggling financially due to the pandemic.

How to Apply

  • Call 2-1-1 or visit nc211.org for a referral to your local EnergyShare agency. Trained professionals can provide referrals to resources for basic human needs, child care, elder care, housing assistance and more. Help is available 24/7.
  • View a list of local EnergyShare agencies.

How to Contribute

  • Simply add $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $25, or $35 to the amount due on your bill.
  • Overpayments in these exact amounts are automatically recognized as a contribution and will be documented on your next bill.

Project Fan / Heat Relief

Since 1990, we have supported the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services program for seniors, Project Fan/Heat Relief. We donate funds to help provide fans in our service area in the northeastern portion of North Carolina.
