Facility Location Request
You can now email Dominion Energy to request an electric facility location map. (This form should not be used for gas mapping requests or site marking and locating service.) Refer to our section on "Call Before You Dig" for more information and telephone numbers.
Follow these easy steps:
- Either cut and paste the required fields into your email or download a template of the required fields which could be saved and attached with your email.
- Attach a PDF or Microsoft Word document of your area of interest.
- Email to Dominion Energy
Below is the required information you should submit. Without this information, We cannot process your request. Note that an online form is also available (see below).
Type of Firm: (architect, engineering, surveyor, locate company, contractor, developer, other)
Type of Request:
Location Description: (Include a location description or directions that may help identify the location)
Comments: (Include any information that may help with this request)
Attachments: Make sure you include your attachment in the email! We cannot process your request if we do not receive your attachment.
Online Form: As an alternative, you can complete our online form. However, you still must submit your PDF or Microsoft Word document in a separate email.
Dominion Energy does not warrant the accuracy, sufficiency or completeness of grid maps for any purpose or to any person or entity. Dominion Energy does not intend or expect that any person or entity will rely on grid maps for any purpose. Any such prohibited reliance on such grid map will be at the sole and assumed risk of the person or entity improperly relying on the grid map, who shall, further, be deemed to agree to hold Dominion Energy harmless and indemnify Dominion Energy from and against any and all liability in connection with such prohibited reliance on such grid map.
Dominion Energy also alerts and reminds all persons or entities receiving or reviewing grid maps that all persons or entities must follow the requirements of:
- The Virginia Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act, Virginia Code sections 56-265.14 et seq.
- The Virginia Overhead High Voltage Line Safety Act, Virginia Code sections 59.1-407 et seq.
These state laws set forth important requirements for safely working around underground or overhead electrical lines. By providing grid maps, Dominion Energy does not and cannot alter the requirements of these state laws. These state laws must be strictly observed in order to safely work around underground or overhead electric lines.
Allow five working days for a response to your request. Dominion Energy reserves the right to deny any request.
