Utah employees join in ‘Wreaths Across America Day'

Wreaths Across America Utah

Dominion Energy employees, family members and friends recently volunteered by joining others in the community to participate in “Wreaths Across America Day” at the historic Fort Douglas Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.

There were 1,071 of the 1,354 grave sites covered with wreaths this year—more than double last year's efforts. The Dominion Energy family provided 277 of those wreaths. With the help of corporate philanthropy, employee resource groups and individual employees, $4,000 was donated to this community activity.

Prior to the wreaths being placed on the grave markers at the nearby cemetery, there was a brief military program at the Fort Douglas Post Theater. Active-duty military officers, veterans and young recruits participated in a patriotic and memorable program of music and recognition for veterans serving in each branch of the military.

John Kinder, manager-Gas Business Development, coordinated the Dominion Energy West volunteer efforts for this year's veterans event.

"Dominion Energy has been involved in supporting veteran issues such as 'Wreaths Across America' for many years," Kinder said. "It's impressive to see employees want to become involved as they learn more about the positive impact our veterans bring to our communities and to Dominion Energy."
