Mission Tomorrow Brings Career Insight to Richmond-area Students

Mission Tomorrow

Nearly 12,000 eighth-grade students from Central Virginia-area public schools recently converged upon the Richmond Raceway for Mission Tomorrow – Richmond’s interactive career exploration event for rising high schoolers.

Ranging from localities including Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Richmond and Powhatan, students were able to interact with more than 140 businesses in the Richmond region through a series of activities and discussions.

More than 50 Dominion Energy employees participated in the event as exhibitors or volunteers. The company showcased four exhibits, providing insight into multiple areas, including IT – Innovation, Nuclear – Virtual Reality, Customer Account Management, and Power Delivery – Construction.

Eighth grade is a critical time for students as they begin deciding on coursework for high school and beyond. Mission Tomorrow helps students gain a better understanding of what it means to be prepared for a job and exposes them to various career and technical education resources.

Mission Tomorrow is an annual event sponsored by Chamber RVA. For more information or to learn how you can participate next year, contact Drexel.N.Harris@DominionEnergy.com or visit https://www.chamberrva.com/programs/mission-tomorrow/.
