Dominion Energy has donated a 2010 Chevy Express cargo van to BARK (Bandit’s Adoption & Rescue of K-9’s). BARK, located in Ashland, will use the vehicle to transport animals, supplies and equipment. Dominion has a history of donating vehicles to local nonprofit organizations. The vehicles have reasonable mileage and are in good mechanical and cosmetic condition.
“When we come across an organization like BARK who needs help, we are happy to step up,” said Joseph Schmitt, a fleet sourcing specialist at Dominion Energy. “We know this vehicle will have a good second life as it’s used to serve the community.”
“Having a van like this means the difference between running around in a van that has 400,000 miles on it and may break down at any time versus something that is reliable,” said Bob Tillack with BARK. “For the safety of our volunteers and animals, it means the difference between life and death.”
