Natural Gas Furnace Rebates
Rebates up to $350 are available when you purchase and install an ENERGY STAR® Certified Natural Gas Furnace.
ENERGY STAR® certified gas furnaces have higher Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratings and higher efficiency blower motors, making them more efficient than standard models.

Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE): AFUE is a standard measurement of how efficiently a furnace converts energy from the fuel it uses into warm air for your home.
Eligibililty
- You must be a Dominion Energy South Carolina electric residential customer. Applicants must be the customer of record OR own the facility where the installation occurred for an active Dominion Energy South Carolina residential gas account.
- Applicants who are not the account holder but do own the property where the service was performed, may apply by including an IRS Form W9, which can be found at www.irs.gov//pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf. Or you can access a copy of the W-9 form here.
- Rebates are valid for purchased equipment. Leased equipment will not qualify.
- All equipment must be new and must be installed on or after 12/01/23. Only AHRI-rated equipment meeting the program’s efficiency requirements will qualify. Multiple rebates for the same piece of equipment are not permitted.
- Applicants are responsible for ensuring that equipment installed for this program meets all applicable codes, standards and requirements. Equipment must be installed by a licensed contractor.
- This program does not allow fuel switching. To be eligible for a rebate, installed natural gas furnace must replace an existing natural gas furnace.
- Removed equipment must be legally disposed of and must not be reinstalled in our service territory or transferred to any other party for installation in our service territory.
- Applicants must submit a completed Residential Natural Gas Furnace Rebate Application along with a copy of proof of purchase (detailed installation invoice) within 90 days of installation.

The average processing time is 4-6 weeks. Please be aware that during peak heating and cooling seasons, we receive a large volume of applications. To ensure your check will be delivered in a timely manner, please use the checklist provided with each application. NOTE: Failure to include proof of purchase (detailed installation invoice) is the most common reason for delays in receiving a check.

- Get recommendations from family and friends or your homeowners association (if applicable).
- Check to see if a contractor is licensed by calling 803-896-4300 or by going to the SC Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board website and selecting “Licensee Lookup."
- Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if there have been complaints filed against the contractor or call 803-254-2525 or 843-766-9616.
- Contact the South Carolina Association of Licensed Trades (SCALT) for a list of preferred providers in your area or call 800-395-9276.
