What is Net Zero?
In the last 20 years, Dominion Energy has dramatically reduced carbon emissions from power generation. We will continue to reduce emissions as part of our mission commitment to provide reliable, affordable, and increasingly clean energy.

These assessments help you understand your energy usage.
If you adopt energy-efficient measures or install certain energy-efficient systems, you can earn cash rewards.
If you are income-eligible, you'll get a no-cost assessment and necessary upgrades to use less energy.
With your assessments, you'll get a step-by-step plan that makes your energy cleaner and more reliable.
When you install high-efficiency equipment and qualified electric vehicle chargers, you get a rebate in return.
Dominion Energy's ability to achieve net zero emissions will require supportive legislative and regulatory policies, advancements in technology and broader investments.
Through pilot programs, we will pursue technological solutions like large-scale battery storage and hydrogen blending. Other pilots could include carbon capture and storage and advanced, small modular reactors, if and when they become technologically and economically feasible.
Innovation is a key component of our Net Zero strategy.
We are building out our renewable-generation portfolio, while also upgrading the electric grid with smart meters, a customer-information platform, intelligent grid devices and associated control systems, physical and cyber-security investments, strategic undergrounding and energy-conservation programs.
For natural gas, we are using zero-emission vacuum and compression devices when appropriate to reduce emissions during large-scale maintenance projects.
Natural gas is an essential part of our long-term vision. Natural gas has a cleaner footprint compared with other heating fuels. Natural gas also enables Dominion Energy to add intermittent renewable generation to ensure we're meeting your energy needs.
Diversifying our energy portfolio enables us to provide you with cleaner options, more choices and lower bills, while protecting the power supply from potential disruption. Using multiple generation sources helps ensure reliability by avoiding overuse on any given source of power.
