Dominion Energy has a need for new, dual-feed transmission lines in Richland County near Blythewood. These lines will power the new Scout Motors automotive plant.

Dominion Energy South Carolina will construct two new 230-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines approximately 2.4 miles each on self-supporting galvanized steel poles. The lines will be constructed by contractors and will be on new right of way. Richland County is the only property owner along the route.

Timeline

  • Dominion Energy is working on engineering, permitting and right of way acquisition. Construction will begin in summer 2025 and continue until mid-2026. In addition to weekdays and normal work hours, weekend work hours may be necessary to meet critical project schedules.
