Germanna
Overview

At Dominion Energy, we are committed to providing safe, secure and reliable energy to all our customers. This project proposes to construct a new overhead 230 kilovolt (kV) double circuit, 1.8 mile-long transmission line and a new substation in Stevensburg, VA.
The new transmission lines will run from an existing transmission line along Batna Road to the proposed Germanna Substation. The approved transmission line route can be viewed on the Maps tab.

Legal
SCC Application
The Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) is responsible for verifying the need, approving the route and structures and reviewing the environmental impact of certain transmission lines in Virginia. On November 20, 2023, Dominion Energy filed its application with the SCC.
The SCC issued its Final Order approving the project on August 7, 2024. Documents related to the case are available to the public on the SCC Docket of the SCC website or search by Case No. PUR-2023-00206 in the “Search Cases” section. In addition, interested parties may comment directly to the SCC by sending an email to sccinfo@scc.virginia.gov.

Meetings
Dominion Energy hosted a community meeting on October 17, 2023 to review the project. Visual simulations of conceptual transmission line and substation engineering were displayed at the meeting.
