Interconnect Project

Overview

Powerlines against a blue sky with white, fluffy clouds

It has become necessary for Dominion Energy to address aging infrastructure that has been in operation since the 1920s. In this project, we will rebuild approximately 15 miles of 138 kilovolt (kV) infrastructure and related components on an existing electric transmission line between our Fudge Hollow Substation in Alleghany County, VA and American Electric Power (AEP) Interconnect in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Benefits

  • New structures located in the same general location as existing structures
  • Complies with mandatory standards to ensure safety, reliability and to meet future needs
  • Replaces aging infrastructure
