At Dominion Energy, we are committed to continually reviewing and analyzing our energy infrastructure to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to the communities we serve. We are proposing the Foster Drive Substation Project to meet the ongoing economic growth in the City of Manassas, Virginia.

This project proposes to build a new substation and approximately 0.15 miles of new transmission line to connect the new substation to the existing electric transmission grid. The new structures along this short transmission connection will consist of galvanized steel monopole structures.

The new substation will be located off Foster Drive, next to Dominion Energy’s existing Cannon Branch Substation as well as a new substation being constructed by the City of Manassas.

Benefits

  • New structures located in the same general location as existing structures
  • Complies with mandatory standards to ensure safety, reliability and to meet future needs
  • Minimizes impact to the community and environment
